Obituary
Sally Chapralis, nee Ross, 81, beloved wife of the late James Chapralis; devoted daughter of the late Betty and Irving Ross; loving sister of Jacalyn (Dennis) Gronek; and treasured relative and friend by many. Sally was an accomplished public relations specialist and headed the successful public relations agency, SALLY CHAPRALIS PR and BUSINESS ASSOCIATES. She was also a public relations and communications teacher at both Roosevelt University and Spertus College. Despite Sally’s numerous professional accomplishments, she ALWAYS made time for others, very often before herself. She was totally selfless. She donated and volunteered regularly at many organizations, especially for the sick and disabled. When asked to describe Sally by her family members, friends, and acquaintances…the overwhelming responses were beyond stellar and superlative… “caring, loving, thoughtful, loyal, wonderful, talented, creative… and the list goes on, with far too many accolades to mention in an obituary. Sally fought bravely with her long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her or were somehow touched by her in one way or another. May she rest in peace. Private services have been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation. Sally was a bright light of love, joy, enthusiasm and inspiration. Always caring about others. She led the Independent writers of Chicago and encouraged me to be a speaker. She supported my business in helping me create my brochure, and far beyond that, she was a dear friend who always had kind words to share. An exemplary human being.
