Sheldon Eisenberg, 93, beloved husband of the late Lois; loving father of Audrey Karahalios, Maureen Eisenberg and the late Pamela Monroe; cherished grandpa of John Daniel Karahalios; devoted son of the late Minnie and Isadore Eisenberg; dear brother of Calvin (the late Lana) Eisenberg and the late Marvin (Phyllis) Eisenberg; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the American Kidney Fund (www.kidneyfund.org). Graveside service Friday 2:00 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Sheldon was truly a pillar in our family. He was an inspiration to me in his attitude to life in general. He always made a point to connect with our families in Mexico and made sure that our families stayed in touch through several generations.
As a child I remember his traveling to Mexico City to visit my grandmother Miriam and he was always happy, energetic and had a great sense of humor. I have memories of him with his hat and a scarf around his neck….
During my years training as a resident in Detroit he and his family would always welcome me at their home and made me feel very close to them and comfortable. I will miss Sheldon and his memories will always bring joy . Blessing to Calvin, Audrey and Maureen.
