Harold Tanenbaum, 97, beloved husband of the late Sonia for 68 wonderful years; loving father of Jordan Tanenbaum, Etty (John) Wilberding, and Michelle (Michael) Girard; cherished Papa of Sarah Boden, Andrew Boden, Dana Girard, and Alexis Girard; caring brother of the late Estelle (the late Phillip) Simon; devoted son of the late Bertha; treasured uncle and great uncle of Jerry (Stephanie) Simon, Elyse Simon, Brooke (Tom) Kellerhouse, and Matthew and Lilly. Chapel Service 12:15 PM Monday, May 1st at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Such jokes! Such humour! Such channelling of the accents and culture of his parents’ Yiddish upbringing! His risque stories about his WW2 experience! And still going strong when I last spoke to him by phone at Passover 2021 . Many happy memories, dear Bob, of your love and friendship along with my beloved cousin Sonia. Sorry you weren’t able to cross the pond since your memorable visit in 1983. You will be much missed.
