Jerry was my German prof at Iowa Wesleyan, and then a good friend. His memory is a blessing.

Jerry sitting at our dining room table running his finger around in a bowl to capture every last bit of Hollandaise after the asparagus was devoured. So many good memories.

Uncle Jerry will always be remembered by me for two things. First, he was balance. He was always levelheaded. And he always presented a different, valued perspective. That will forever be with me. Second, kugel. He knew good food. The first time I tried a lot of new “weird” foods it was because of Uncle Jerry. Specifically – kugel. And chicken liver come to think of it.

Jerry was the Father and Father-in-law of my closest friends, Fritz and Katie Naylor. He will be missed by everyone he touched. I’am so grateful that I had the honor of knowing. Rest in Peace.

Jerry, the oldest of five sons was a great mentor and also a musical phenomenon as to instrumental and vocal acuity for all to hear, including GOD.
His devotion to his faith in Judaism and mankind made most of us pale in comparison and wish to emulate his kindness and concern.
On another note, Jerry loved FOOD! (I dearly remember his Thanksgiving “Dagwood” sandwiches) As his youngest brother, I recall his watching me eat my dinner at Morrison’s Cafeteria in
Orlando in the early 1960’s and him asking me, “Are you gonna eat that” repeatedly.
May God truly love ya, Brother Jerry.
Rest In Peace and Grace.
Godspeed.

Jerry introduced me to the beauty of classical music. He would always invite my youngest brother and I into his room to listen to symphonies, etc. A wonderful time.
I also have good memories of his walking through the house, practising on an A-flat clarinet or a bass clarinet.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O LORD.

My oldest brother intorduced me to the beauty of classical music. He would invite my youngest brother and I into his room to listen to symphonies, etc.
I remember his walking throughout the house either practicing on an A-flat clarinet or a bass clarinet. Over and over again ( a wonderfull memory).
I now pray that he understands true beauty now.

So sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. He was always so kind. He will be greatly missed, but comforting to know he is home with God and we will meet again someday.

I loved Jerry. For several years, he volunteered for me at the University of Iowa Hospital library on Friday afternoons — he drove to Iowa City from Mount Pleasant, and spent those hours with me before driving on to Cedar Rapids for temple. We had wonderful visits, with many laughs. I was impressed by his love for Judaism, his calligraphy, and his humankindness. He inspired me to study calligraphy myself. He was such a sweet, dear man. The world is a smaller place without him.

I will miss my older brother, however, I know he is at home with God. He was the best man I ever knew. I will miss our bi-weekly phone calls that lasted for hours. I will miss the laughter. I will miss the sadness. But mostly, I will miss him here on earth.

So sad to read that Jerry had passed. What a great guy. I love just listening to his voice. He was so learned. And his calligraphy was amazing. My condolences to all the family and friends!

I am very saddened to learn of Jerry’s passing. I have known him since we joined the Temple about 30 years ago. Jerry was present for all of my children’s B’nai Mitzvah services and did calligraphy for their Torahs and Confirmation certificates. He was a very nice and welcoming person and I always enjoyed his insights. I will miss chatting with him. May his memory be a blessing.
