My memories of Sharon begin at Budlong Elementary School. We had lots of happy times in and out of school, living just one block from each other. She had a quiet laugh and a comfortable, easy-going demeanor – even back then. In high school, we wrote Amundson Antics together, a column that was regularly published in the Chicago Sun-Times. She wore her hair in a big bouffant and rolled her skirts at the waist to make them shorter. In college, she was at the University of Illinois Navy Pier campus, and I was at the Champaign-Urbana campus, but we reconnected when she and Michael and Nick and I all lived in Indianapolis. We remained friends ever since. Nick and I will miss Sharon and will remember the laughter that was always present whenever we got together.
