Obituary
Michael “Mike” Feit, a man of duty and honor, passed away peacefully at Northwest Community Hospital on July 30, 2023. Mike was born in Tarnopol, Poland. He immigrated to the USA in 1949, becoming a proud US citizen after serving in the US armed forces. He became a CPA earning a silver medal for highest achievement in the Massachusetts CPA examination. Mike lived most of his life in Highland Park, before moving to Sedgebrook in his final years. Mike was an avid card player and theatergoer. Mike loved history, politics, and people. A great conversationalist, Mike greeted everyone he met with a sparkle in his bright blue eyes and a quick smile. Mike was preceded in death by Irene, his beloved wife for nearly 67 years, who passed away earlier this year. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Betsie (Phillip) Lasko and Susan (Eitan Stern) Feit. Mike was a Holocaust survivor and saw his treasured grandchildren — Gilad Stern, Talya Stern, Max (Aubrey) Lasko, and Arianna Lasko — as his greatest victory over Hitler. Mike was a devoted brother to the late Zosia (Maurice) Hochberg and uncle to their children Sylvain (Francoise) Hochberg and Ghislaine (Jean-Luc) Parer. He will be missed by many. May his memory be blessed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the US Holocaust Museum in Washington DC (https://donate.ushmm.org/6hRw6kqugUOvJLNKCIbD1g2) or a charity of your choice.
