I had the true pleasure of meeting Martha and Paul at the Symphony Center Piano Series concerts. My 1st-row balcony subscription seats were directly in front of theirs, and after several years I looked forward to sharing “quality time” with the two of them as we all had the privilege of seeing the world’s finest pianists in performance. Martha and Paul were always incredibly friendly and gracious, and we had many years of great conversations not only comparing notes on our impressions of each concert, but also of all the interesting things that we had going on in our admittedly blessed lives. It just about killed me to give up those seats when I moved to Colorado 4 years ago, but I realize how lucky I was to share the camaraderie and beauty of those shows with Martha and Paul.
Paul and family — please accept my heartfelt and sincere condolences, and take consolation that Martha’s was a life well-lived. She was an absolutely beautiful and gentle soul!

Martha was a first-class lady. We always enjoyed visiting with her and Paul when Paul’s nephew (Bert Rubinsky) would come to town, and we would drive into the city to visit. May her memory be for a blessing.
