My mom went toHS with Irv. She always spoke so highly of him. Sandi and I went to HS together and were very dear friends and I hope still are. It was so special that my mom and I were able to meet with Irv, Mark and Sandi. What an extraordinary time we had!! May Irv’s memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace! I first met Irv in 1982 at an industry show in Chicago. That began our 40 year friendship. Irv was the consumate salesperson, businessman, friend and mentor. I remember our many conversations and laughs. I will miss him greatly. Such a kind and good man. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Dear Jeff, Elisa, Mark, Sandy, Erin, Taylor, and Ari –
Memories of your Dad are many. Deep love and a true sense of caring enter every thought. A finer “gentleman “ does not exist. My connection goes back to 1980 when I was asked to order some items from Irving Kannett and Associates. When Irv got on the phone and he found out that I was new – he unselfishly passed me along to Jeff to handle our account and orders for the next 35 years! All the stories of your Dad’s terrific memory are true. Our last meeting with your Dad happened when Kim and I had the pleasure of attending Erin and Adam’s wedding. Your Dad remembered everything about us and asked how our family was and wanted updates on our three sons. We shared many discussions, meals and even a few rounds of golf. Your Dad’s kindness extended to “giving” me a putt that was clearly beyond the leather. I always had a smile when I was around your Dad. And Jeff – I was blessed to see the love you had for your Mom and Dad. You have given so much and asked so little. You taught me many things – and one in particular that I will be forever grateful — you showed that patience is far easier obtained when you stand in the shoes of another.
Irv will join JoAnn and stay in our hearts forever. I know when I look to the heavens I’ll see your Dad’s smile and know I’m a far better man for having memories of him in my heart. Thank you dear Lord for granting me time with such a great guy. With many blessings and love, Victor and Kim

As a child my mother Fay, introduced Irving to me , probably 1947. He came to our house many times and clearly I remember him
wearing his military uniform.
We lost contact after my mom moved. I always looked forward to seeing him since he had been close to my father ( who passed when I was an infant). R.I.P. cousin Irving. 🙏🏻

As car lovers, Irv and I always had things to talk about. He was an upbeat guy who always had a smile on his face. Very lucky to have known him.

I met Irv when he would sometimes have dinner with my mom in the dining room at the Vi. I would also poke my head in his room whenever I walked by just to say hello. He and I enjoyed talking sports, family and a little bit about his WW2 experience. He was sharp as a tack and still had a great memory. Always upbeat and the perfect gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family. I will miss him.

To a wonderful friend and family man. I had the pleasure of doing business with Irv for over 15 years and learned a lot about the business world from him. It was always a fun outing to golf with Irv & Jeff at Twin Orchard. I always thought of him as a true professional and a wonderful valued friend. I hope that his family will smile when they remember all the good times.

Irv and I were regular golf buddies for many years. Although well into his nineties, we played every Saturday at Twin Orchard Country Club.. I never met a finer man or a better friend. it has been my great honor to be his friend. When I had a lucky hole-in-one, Irv presented me with an engraved trophy. The hole-in-one was fun, but his gesture in giving me the the trophy was unforgettable!

My husband and I first met Cousin Irving in 2009. Our daughter lived in Aurora at the time and we first drove to Morton Grove during a visit to her. Meeting Irving and continuing our visits was a joy and a highlight of each trip to Aurora and later to Evanston. Irving reminded me of my dear Father in so many ways. Cousin Irving was a kind and caring man who was excited to hear about our family and the small village of Czyzewo, Poland where our Kannett family once lived. May his memory be a blessing for his family and for so many who loved him.

I met Irv’s son Mark in our collage days and thru Mark, I got to meet Irv and we became close friends. For a long time now, I’ve been calling him every Sunday. What a blessing that he lived to be 101 years old. I will continue to call him every Sunday in Spirt!!!!!
