Steven H. Firestone

Dear Rebecca, Ivy, Cathy and Elizabeth,
Sending you my most heartfelt sympathy and condolences for your loss.
I am sorry I didn’t know of Steve’s passing at the time.
Steve was the same age as my sister Rhonda.
She passed away in November 2020. Our families grew up next door
to each other on Princeton Ave. I remember your beautiful house
on Sheridan Rd. and coming there to play board games on a visit.
Your home and your family were always so warm and welcoming.
Our Mothers were lifelong friends. I can still hear your Mom’s wonderful laugh,
and still remember her blue convertible.

Steve had that infectuous laugh, unlimited banter across so many topics and passions – a zest for life as rich as anyone I’ve met. I’ve known him all my life and despite relocating from Chicago to the UK, whenever I visited and hung out it was like no time went by. What a down to Earth and lovely human.

Special memories are countless but our shared love of Weiner circle and Lou Malnatis’s bonded us forever.

Politics? Good for a laugh and another view. He never backed down there.

Lobe of family? His cup runneth over.

I’ll miss you dear cousin !!

I’ve known Steve since 2002, when we worked together at Decoma..there’s so many memories , it’s hard to pick one. We’ve done a lot together over the years. Like seeing concerts together (Paul McCartney, The Who, Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr) to watching movie’s at Scott’s to grabbing drink’s in Roger’s Park with our friend Gary O’Boyle.

Steve I’m going to miss everything from the political banter over drinks to the movie critiques, your sense of humor, etc.. R.I.P my friend!!!
