Darryl M. Frank

My first memories growing up always included Darryl. We were not related by blood but he was my brother. Our families started out in Wheeling and then moved to Buffalo Grove. It was a great childhood. I am blessed to have such wonderful memories. Two Davero kids and 7 Frank kids. What could possibly happen. Well plenty!! We were always into something. Our best days we’re playing by the creek, in the tree house, swimming, or just out exploring. We were always together no matter what we were doing. A piece of my heart will always belong to Darryl. My love and sympathy to Rachyl,, family and friends. He was taken way to soon.

Too many memories make it hard to narrow down just one. He was at all my childhood passover events at his father’s house (my great Uncle Pini). Always bringing up some item of history or current world event to tie in with the service.

But honestly I remember him best when I first saw him in court after I became a lawyer. He was the cook county sheriff assigned to the Judge I was before. Always with a smile for me “Lance, fancy meeting you here.”

I remember he had a really great relationship with one of my favorite Judges, Judge Cohen on the 14th floor of the Daley center. I would go down sometime just to visit chambers during lunch to see him and Sheriff Bev (another jewish sheriff). We would eat lunch and talk about the worlds events and debate politics, (sometimes I would let him win, JK he held his own just fine, I was outnumbered by him and the Judge).

I will miss you cousin.

A couple different memories but one that stands out is our little escapade in the canoe on my folks property at Farm Lake. It was really a lot of fun. I will remember that for years to come hopefully.. 😘😊
