Leah was a wonderful woman who attended as many bowling league nights that she could to support Gary, and my husband Tripp who has been on the same team together for many, many years. Through it all we both had become great friends with Leah and have socialized with her in restaurants, and on visits to her home to sit outside and enjoy food and beverages. She was a classy lady who was always impeccably dressed, She was such an accepting person, very personable, and through it all, became a good friend. We communicated regularly through Facebook which I will miss. She did have a wonderful, long life, and even though she has left this earth, she is now with her beloved husband of 65 years Leroy. May Leah rest in peace through eternity. Until we meet again in heaven, you will be truly missed!

It was always so nice seeing Mrs. Liss at the bowling alley on Friday nights. Her “hey dear how are you” will be missed. I will also miss her cheering for me even if I was competing against Gary’s team. Please know you are loved tremendously and will be missed.

I loved seeing your Facebook posts. Your pictures brought back many memories. We recently used the Belgium waffle maker you gave Brian and I 28 yrs ago for our wedding we thought of you. You and Leroy attended our wedding and Leroy took the photos. Your smile and presence and soft
demeanor will be missed. Our love to your family.

My son with Down Syndrome, Andy, and I were bowling at Classic Bowl in 2015 when a cute elderly couple came to bowl on the lane next to us. Friendly people!! That’s the day I met Leroy & Leah Liss. By the end of our 3 games, I had accepted their invitation to bowl on the team The High Rollers with a bunch of their longtime friends who became my dear friends over time. We’d bowl, go to Omega Restaurant afterwards where they’d load me up with leftover rolls in a white bakery bag, and talk & laugh. Most of the time, Leroy & Leah shared a meal. I had a couple years of great fun & friendship bowling with these wonderful seniors & grieved each time they began passing away one by one. Soon after, Leah suggested I join JWI. There I was, the only Christian Gentile in an all Jewish women’s league! What a blast! These women became family to me! I ate my first Hamantash there! All are precious to me but Leah more so. She bowled until her feet wouldn’t let her & her grief for Leroy slowed her. We still talked & shared funny memes on our phones. Unfortunately, I had to move to Wisconsin in 2019 & said my last “I love you” and hug to Leah & the “girls” at the JWI luncheon. I was heartbroken but Leah & I kept in touch via Facebook & Words with Friends. Her comments on my posts were always loving & warm with “Say hello to your lovely family.” Because of those 2 seniors who bowled next to me & Andy, I will forever love all I met through them, especially my First Contact, Leah! Shalom shalom, my friend! ❤️ Margie

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I only knew her through the wonderful things Gary always told me about her and his devotion and love for her and his father and sisters. Your family is a testament to what a wonderful mother she was. Sending my love to you Gar and the family.

Seeing her each week was a highlight of the night. She would always say “how are you dear” . I always felt I had love on the lanes when i would turn around and she was cheering for me as much as she watched.
