Obituary

Mark Norbert Lerman, M.D., 72, passed away on July 16, 2023. Beloved husband of Julie, nee Chatz; loving father of Gordon (Elana) Lerman, Jake (Allison) Lerman, and Benjamin (Stacey) Lerman; adored Papa of Maya Lerman; cherished brother of Joel (Freda) Lerman and Paulette Lerman; dear brother-in-law of Cathy Smith and Barbara (Keith) Bank and caring uncle, cousin, friend and colleague of many. Mark was well known and loved for his unique sense of humor. He enjoyed an accomplished career in medical research acting as the principal investigator in many clinical trials. Funeral Service Wednesday, July 19th, at 10 am in the Chapel at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park. I worked with Mark for many years in clinical trials, I ran the DC branch, he the Chicago branch of a research company. I was visiting to Chicago and thought I would like to visit him and found out he had passed. He is probably one of the very few people in my 20 plus years in clinical trials that I would like to see. What a genuine, funny, caring man! I feel such a loss, the world is truly an emptier place without him. My best to his family, who he loved so.

Philip loved playing golf with Mark. Mark’s sense of humor and outrageous funny comments had Phil laughing. each and every time he played golf with Mark.
