Dear Butchie & family,
Our families (Shapiro/Eisenberg) share a long history together, starting with the childhood friendship of our mothers. I remember the first time I met Susan, when you brought her to our house in Roseland to meet our family. We liked Susan from the beginning.
We wish you peace during this sad and difficult time.

The first time I saw Susie ( her Flossmoor friends call her Susie, was out of a window in 1966. Susie and Butch lived next door to Mark and me on 87th Street. I recognized Butch as he walked to his car with this petite and exquisite woman with bouffant blond hair.
I did not meet Susie until 1970. Butch stopped his car while I was riding my bike to tell me Susie and he had moved in several blocks from my home in Flossmoor, That introduction resulted in 57 years of cherished experiences and beloved memories.
Besides being a gracious hostess ,excellent cook, and devoted mother, Susie was an intelligent, organized and no nonsense woman.
She was a president of Flossmoor’s JCC,, and and active member of NCJW. Prior to working as an executive of Holiday Inns, she waitressed at Al’s Delicatessen. where Natalie, Sandy, Corrine and I spent each morning sitting it Susie sharing laughs and gripes.
Th four of us will always treasure our family weekends, girl trips to Florida, Aspen and Las Vegas. . Susie was a treasured friend who will be greatly missed.
