A celebration of life will be held on January 25, 2025 at the home of Amy Klein-Alter and Harvey Alter.

Marilyn Klein nee Becker, 90, beloved wife of the late Richard for 61 wonderful years; loving mother of Amy Klein-Alter (Harvey Alter) and Karen (David) Schafran; cherished Nana of Kalee and Joshua Alter; beloved daughter of the late Anna Becker and Phillip (the late Mae) Becker; sister of Stanley Becker; adored aunt of Sam, Phyllis, Carole, Steven, Linda, and their families.

A life well lived full of family, friends, travel, food, joy, and laughter. Marilyn shared her love of learning with her children, grandchildren and the hundreds of New York City public school children she taught in her over 35-year career. She was community minded, running for local public office as well as being active in the League of Women Voters throughout her life. Avid baseball fan (even after her beloved Dodgers abandoned Brooklyn) she adapted to retired life in San Diego by cheering on the Padres. Marilyn loved nothing more than toasting with family and friends with a glass of good red wine. She will be remembered by many and missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) and the League of Women Voters (www.lwv.org). A celebration of life will be held on January 25, 2025 at the home of Amy Klein-Alter and Harvey Alter.
