33 years of jokes, travel, recipes, learning and laughing together with Charleen.
I will miss the comfort, joy and security that I always had someone to turn to. My heart and my soul will miss her terribly. I’m not the only one, Charleen had many friends and brought them joy and wisdom as they moved in and out of her life.
I wish you well my sister from another mother, oxoxoxox Liz

Uncle Bob has always worked hard to aid his brother and his sister. Family is of such serious value and the passing of Char is significant. She was in Florida and he mostly lived in Illinois but effort he put forth to help her and connect with her was not trivial. That speaks volumes for the life of Char and for the connection shared among the siblings. May Char be at peace and may Bob know that the love he has for his sister and the work he did to support her is not unnoticed. Wishing goodness for all the Estes family, those alive and those who have departed, especially Char.

I offer Bob condolences on the loss of his sister. I had fond memories of meeting her at Bob’s wedding and at family celebrations. Bob, may Plasm 23 offer you comfort.
A psalm of David
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

I remember Charleen was especially close to her mother, Bertha. During the pandemic, separated by distance, she made sure her mother had food and necessities . She called her nearly every day to check in on her and make sure she was eating and staying healthy. Bertha talked about Charleen almost every time I spoke to her, whether in person or on the telephone. Charleen was a devoted and loving daughter, and a loving sister to her brothers Joel and my husband Bob.
