Dear Caren, I am so sorry to learn of Larry’s passing. I was emailing Larry about the 12th of June by Lyle Lovett that says “As I fly above life, I’ll love you forever; play me a happy tune.” In my last telephone call with Larry, I told him I would love him forever. When we talked for the second time after our ZBT days, Larry said, “it’s like we’re sitting here together like we were never apart.” Larry said, “with you there was never a dull moment.” In my last call with Larry, he asked me , had I ever heard “I Married Her, Because She Looks Like You” by Lyle Lovett. I said no. I wanted Larry to know I thought that song was great and my favorite song was now 12th of June along with “the Mighty Quinn” and “Do Wah Diddy”, Manfred Mann. Caren, I am just heartbroken to hear of Larry’s passing. I have such fond memories of both of you as we worked through our initial legal matter together and then attended many fun Cubs games over the years. It was always fun to hear from and be with you both. I will miss him greatly.

It was an honor and a privilege to practice law with Larry these past 35 years. A Mensh’s Mensh! The years went by too fast and, as one of my partners said in tribute, its difficult to believe he won’t be there with us in the office. We lost a great guy, great lawyer, great friend and, yes, a great Cub fan who sufferred along side of me for many years. May Larry’s memory remain a blessing and may he Rest In Peace.

I just heard of Larry’s passing. I’m so sorry for your loss. Larry was a great guy with a very sweet disposition. I enjoyed seeing you guys at the many parties that I hosted over the years. I’ve worked with Larry for over 27 years – a brilliant man with style! On occasion, he’d come by my office, take a seat, and we’d chat for a bit – politics, Cubs baseball, and dogs. Larry always had a story to share. He was indeed an interesting man – but more than that – he took such an interest in others. He will surely be missed – but will always be fondly remembered as a total mensch!

Larry will be deeply missed by our family. He was a steadfast and ever present figure in our community of friends. He held an ongoing dedication for work as a lawyer, yet his devotion to family and friends would always supersede in love and commitment. He often took time from his office to support and cheer on his grandchildren and their friends in whatever was the activity or sport of the day. Larry was a significant model for all as a loving family man and patriarch. God bless you Larry, and hold you in the peaceful repose of his warm embrace.
