Obituary

Laura Pearlman, 85, beloved wife of the late Jerald Pearlman, happily married for 55 years; loving mother of Marc Pearlman, Brent (Helen Dennis) Pearlman and the late Belinda Pearlman; cherished grandmother of Ryan Connelly, and Lindsey, Tatum, and Evan Pearlman; dear sister of Hope Hornstein, preceded in death by her brothers Sheldon and Myles Golde and her sister Edith Gnippe; Laura was a treasured aunt, cousin and friend to many. Laura had a passion for her work, helping children to live a better life in any way she could including by always advocating for the rights of children with special needs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Chapel service Thursday, November 14, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. My mother Judy and I send our love and condolences during this difficult time. Laura was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with love and kindness. She will be greatly missed. May her memory be for a blessing.

Ginevra Ciavarella (my wife) and I got to know Laura and Jerald (and Hope) via G’s father (Peter) having met Edee’s former husband at cardiac rehab LONG ago…quite a complicated tree! We’d gather for lunches of 6-8 at a Chinese place near Edee’s, which over inexorable time dwindled to us, Laura, and Hope. Laura was always a hoot, and didn’t dwell on the downsides of her business, health, family. We miss her!
