The first time I met Ross and Margaret was at Ravinia where they hosted us to an amazing evening- their passion for the venue and the music came shining through. Ross was such a knowledgeable and enjoyable person to engage with. I was stunned and saddened to hear about his sudden passing and will always have great memories of such a special person. My most sincere condolences to his entire family.

I met Ross at the Del Rio restaurant in Highwood, Illinois. It was a favorite place of Ross, going back very many years I am told. We would sit typically at the bar side by side. And the great discussions, always meeting of new people, and endless laughter became what Ross dubbed, “The Jay and Ross show.” And we took that show to many places. Ross and I would introduce the other one to many places typically in the Lake County area.

Anyone who knew Ross, knew him to be a very intelligent man, very kind, and the type to leave impressions on people. I am actually still in a sense of disbelief. We spoke a mere couple of days before his passing. But I shall have a lifetime of great happy and funny memories.

Until we meet again my friend, to continue with our “podcast” in the next life. The first Ketel One will be on me, good Sir!

My heartfelt condolences to the Shepard family, Ross, Margaret, and I became good friends while staying at the ESA, many pleasant evenings, and last year while I was hospitalized numerous times and an extended stay in a nursing home Ross was always there to help me and drive me to appts., this such sad news he is missed, R I P my friend
