Sherry Ann Neuman, nee Kaplan, 91. Beloved wife of the late Sherman; devoted mother of Linda (Richard) Vittenson, Doreen (Robert) Edelman, James (Marla) Neuman, and the late Jeffrey Neuman; cherished grandmother of Jessica (Brian) McGahan, Michael Vittenson, Gregory Edelman, Andrew Edelman, Heather (Daniel) Farnsworth, Ross (Meredith) Neuman, Emily (Kevin) Hoffman, and Cole (Alyssa) Neuman; proud great-grandmother of Aedan, Isla, Ethan, Shane, Bryce, Henry, Paige, Graham, Adina, Sofia, Holden, and Maeve; loving daughter of the late Goodwin and Frieda Kaplan; dear sister of the late Miles Kaplan; caring sister-in-law of Idajean Kaplan (Irv Schwartz); will be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. I just found out about Sherry’s passing. I’m so sorry for your loss. Our parents were the best of friends and I have fond memories of both of your parents. I talked to your mom on the phone even after my mom died. My mom cherished her friendship with Sherry as their friendship goes back to their college days. Our dads were best buddies also. They all knew each other down at Champaign-Urbana. Thinking of all of you.

Such fond memories of growing up with the Neuman family in Skokie. Neighbors by proximity, “cousins by affection.”
Sherry was very special to my mother. And, as a kid, I always marveled how spotless her house always was — despite her children.
