Obituary

Norman “Scotty” Gotteiner, age 93, of Northbrook, loving husband for 73 years of Marcia, nee Gold; devoted father of Sherry (Steve) Rundell, Donna (Robert) Farley, and Jaime (Ken) Plotkin; cherished grandfather of Michael (Lauren) Zalay, Danny (Allie) Zalay, Melissa (Mike) Feinberg, Erica (Matt) Barnes, Marc Plotkin, Jordan Lipshutz, and Joseph (Maddy) Plotkin; proud great-grandfather of Savannah, Corey, Bradley, Taylor, Zoey, Blake, Brielle, Lyla, and Brody; beloved brother of the late Max Gotteiner and Grace Greene; treasured uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Norman co-founded Franks Mechanical Contractors Inc. and was a respected leader of the Plumbing Contractors Association of Greater Chicago. In addition to his love of family, Norman was a cowboy at heart. His love of horseback riding in Arizona’s deserts and caring for his horses brought him comfort and joy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Friends of Magen David Adom, www.afmda.org, the chosen charity of The Great Vest Side Club of Chicago (of which Norman was a member), or The Foundation for the Horse, www.foundationforthehorse.org. Chapel service Sunday, September 15, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
