I am sorry for your loss. Life is funny sometimes. You think you know how things are, and then you are unexpectedly saddened and surprised..
No parent should have to live through what you are now., I am so sad for you.
May Joe’s memory be a blessing.

Does one ever forget their first crush? Their first “date”? I often tell the story of mine, getting a good laugh or a confused look when I tell people that we were only in second grade, he gave me peacock earrings and his grandma drove us to the movie theater to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Joey is present in so many of my core childhood memories, and for me he will live there forever; vibrant, joyful, mischievous and hilarious beyond belief. Holding hands at the Tot Lot, with our whole lives ahead of us.
Sending love to the Nechtow family and everyone who loved Joey.

I have such fond memories of Joey from childhood. Joey was so fun to be around, would always make me laugh, and treated me so kindly. I loved seeing him in the summers when Birch Trail and Nebagamon would get together. I don’t exactly remember our preschool carpools, but I’m sure I enjoyed his company then too. My most heartfelt sympathies to you all during this difficult time.

Joey was literally the funniest kid I ever knew. There is nobody I enjoyed spending time with more in junior high and part of high school. He made me laugh like nobody ever has. A true comedic genius. We really had so many good times together back then. I will miss him and treasure the memories.

Coming to your house for tutoring for both of my kids. You always had baked chocolate chip cookies for your boys & my kids managed to get some too.
