Howard A. “Hutch” Gordon, 93, beloved husband and best friend of Barbara, nee Goldman, for 65 wonderful years; loving father of Ben Gordon (Mary Taber) and Lynn Gordon; cherished grandpa of Abraham and Lena Rose Gordon; devoted son of the late Rose and Abraham Gordon; dear brother of the late Anita Gordon Robinson (the late George Robinson); treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Howard graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia, MN, Virginia Junior College and the University of Minnesota, from which he also earned a Master of Arts degree. After teaching history and political science at the Lab School at the University of Chicago for 5 years, Howard became a dedicated Professor of Political Science at Olive-Harvey College, City Colleges of Chicago, from 1961 to 1996. He served as the Dean of Arts and Letters for many years. Howard was a proud member of the Cook County College Teachers Union, Local 1600 of the American Federation of Teachers.

He was an exercise enthusiast, loved travel, pets, yard work, a good cigar and video poker at almost any casino, but his greatest joy in life was his family. He will be dearly missed.
