As I watch the services for Ronnie my heart goes out to every one in the family. You exemplified the life of a man we knew as young teenagers and then adults. He and Barry ran the streets of Albany Park; sometimes being mischievous and creating wonderful memories of which stories will forever be secret. We were proud to have Ron as best man at our wedding almost 60 years ago (as with Ron and Hats, young marriages can last). Then, it was our move to DesPlaines within blocks of each other where we raised our beautiful families. I remember so many times walking over to the house just to sit and talk; listening to the jokes and Ron’s philosophy of life. Life goes on and we lost touch after moving to Georgia. But, we never lost touch of the memories and those will always be with us. Ronnie, may you rest in peace. We know we will meet again.

Ron was always my “Elvis” as a kid in 1950s . “ Super cool” or whatever we said back then. But what I will always remember is his incredible love for his family and his pride in expressing his love with poems and his large presence.
We will miss knowing that he was there even if we were in a different city. He was a fighter and we hope the wonderful memories you made together will sustain you in this time of mourning and make you smile and laugh in the future. Love from our family
To yours.

We became family when Wendy Waller married our son Michael Fette. The Wallers have always treated our son as their own and included us as family in every way. They’ve shown us nothing but absolute kindness.
