Michael Swidler

Michael A. Swidler, 80. Beloved husband for 54 years to Andi, nee Milstein; devoted father of Sean Swidler and Evan (Susan) Swidler; proud grandfather of Gabi, Micah, and Avery Swidler; loving brother of Howard (Judy) Swidler and brother-in-law of Helene (Paul) Acker; caring uncle of Lori (Kent) Wanzek, Cindy (Dennis) Ray, Michael Jon (Deena) Swidler, and Stephanie Acker; will be missed by cousins, colleagues, and friends. Michael was a talented marketing executive for many years, then enjoyed a second career as a professor at Columbia College. He loved to swim and was incredibly handy, building and fixing many things at home. He was a great “travel agent,” planning trips for family and friends. Above all, Michael loved his family. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Funeral service Tuesday, January 28, 10 AM at Congregation BJBE, 1201 Lake Cook Rd, Deerfield. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
