Obituary

Glenn Robert Heyman, 94, beloved husband for 21 years to Marjorie Friedman Heyman. Previously married to the late Judith Heyman until her passing; loving father of Scott (Gwen) Heyman, Rachel (Daniel Lidawer) Heyman, Joanne (Ed) Gordon, Melissa (Allan) Malmed, Andi (John) Marks, and Penny (Jay) Fine; cherished Zayde of Jordan, Dana (Surya), Aaron (Mae), Alana (Eli), Josh, Sam (fiancée Mia), Jerry, Mason (Henrique), Billy (Rachel), Noah (Shula), Charlie (fiancée Esther), Jenny (fiancé Kevin), Herbie (fiancée Jillian), David (Sarah), Jordan (Jordan) and Leah; great-grandfather of Abe; preceded in death by his brothers Seymour (Ann), Jerome (Sylvia) and Irv (Evelyn); treasured uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Glenn had an illustrious career as an attorney, starting in the US Attorneys Office and later as a partner in a respected bankruptcy firm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Community Center, the Ark, or a charity of your choice. Chapel service Sunday, March 9, 2025, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. I have fond memories of the many Passovers spent at the Heyman home with uncle Glenn leading the Seder service. Since my parents were not very observant, for many years this was essentially my only connection to Judaism. Uncle Glenn and aunt Judy generously invited me to live with their family after my parents moved to Knoxville. May uncle Glenn’s memory be a blessing.

My deepest condolences to Margie, her family, and to my cousins Scott, Rachel,Joanne and their children on the passing of my Uncle Glenn, the last of the Heyman brothers. . The majority of my memories of Uncle Glenn are from my childhood but it was always lovely to see him on my infrequent trips back to Chicago. I know he was quite blessed to have lived such a full, active, and long life. Hugs to all at this most difficult time.
